Our mission is to offer healing and hope to children and families affected by abuse, abandonment or neglect. Our vision is that abused and neglected children will be empowered to grow up to be happy, productive and caring adults.
Throughout the 27 rural communities in the South Central and Hill Country Region, there are nearly 1,000 children and families in foster care. They need loving homes and a strong support system. You can become a mentor or volunteer for our precious youth who need loving people in their lives, just like you.
The programs of SJRC cover a continuum of care to ensure that children placed in our care receive therapeutic treatment along their journey of healing towards a brighter future. We offer emergency placement, therapeutic residential care, community foster care, pregnant and parenting teen services, and adoption- creating forever families for children who desperately need and deserve a loving home and family. We utilize a therapeutic model of care, TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) based on brain research on how trauma effects the developing brain and how to best offer healing from that trauma, giving children the tools to heal from trauma, abuse and neglect.
You can make an impact in your community by joining the SJRC family as a volunteer or if you’re searching for employment, explore our careers page.
